Drawn Tubes and Sections

Spartal produces tube by cold drawing of either a seamless extruded or porthole extruded tube decreasing both diameter and wall thickness with each successive reduction. Cold drawing gives close control of dimensional tolerances for the finished tube. These requirements are defined in internationally recognised standards EN / ASTM etc. but because of the needs of subsequent processing it is often a matter of agreement between Spartal and its customer to limit these to a narrow range to meet the end product requirements.

Shaped tubes are made with the cold drawing process, using tooling specifically made to achieve the final shape to tolerances agreed with the customer.

Mechanical properties of the finished tube are subject to similar controls and Spartal can offer all the tempers required in the Standards. We also work with customers to understand their processing requirements and where needed to set a closer control on properties to give consistent downstream processing.
